Moonlight and Sunshine are brilliant at streaming your PC games — once they are set up. This is the part that makes the setting-up stop hurting.

What it does

Getting a good stream out of Sunshine usually means hopping between a web dashboard, Windows display settings, firewall rules and a config file, then repeating half of it on the client. This tool puts the parts you actually change in one window, applies them together, and remembers them as a profile you can switch back to.

Main features

  • One window for the host settings you actually touch — resolution, frame rate, bitrate and encoder — instead of three different places.
  • Profiles you can save and switch between: one for the TV, one for the laptop on the sofa, one for streaming away from home.
  • Resolution handling that puts your desktop back the way it was when the stream ends, instead of leaving it at the client's size.
  • A setup check that tells you in plain words what is blocking a connection — service not running, port closed, pairing not done.
  • Quick pairing, so adding a new device does not mean hunting for a PIN box.
  • Portable. Nothing is written outside its own folder unless you ask it to start with Windows.

What it is not

It is not a replacement for Moonlight or Sunshine, and it is not affiliated with either project — both are excellent open-source software by other people, and you still install them yourself. This sits alongside them and drives the settings. It also cannot fix a bad network; it will, however, tell you honestly that the network is the problem.

Before you install

You will need: Windows 10 or 11, Sunshine installed on the PC doing the streaming, and Moonlight on whatever you are streaming to. Some settings need the app run as administrator — it will ask, and only when it genuinely needs to.

Is it really free?

Yes. No trial, no locked features, no upsell inside the app. It solves a problem I had, and it costs me nothing to let you have it too.

Does it send anything anywhere?

No analytics, no accounts, no phoning home. Your settings stay on your machine. The only network traffic is between your own devices.
